ALER KAMANCHA · ISTANBUL

We listen to the sound first.
Then we tell it to the wood.

At Aler Kamancha, in Arslan Hazreti’s atelier, the character of the wood, handcraft and the tone sought by the player come together in each instrument.

ARSLAN HAZRETİ
LUTHIER & MUSICIAN

THE MAKER’S STORY

Every instrument is a way of listening.

For Arslan Hazreti, making a kamancha is far more than repeating a form. Every piece of wood has its own voice, every body its own balance, and every player a different expectation. Nothing that leaves the atelier is simply a product; each instrument begins its own journey of sound.

“The right sound is already within the wood. The maker’s work is to hear it.”

FROM ATELIER TO PLAYER

A fine kamancha is a sound that opens with time.
